jgarland Posted Tuesday at 05:04 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:04 PM I just received the new Tonex Plug. There are youtube videos showing the plug being used through various DAW's, but I cannot seem to find a way to make it show up in Sonar. It does not show up as a Device in Sonars Devices or Driver settings. Windows 11 recognizes the plug and it works fine in the Tonex Editor. Is anyone else using this Plug inside of Sonar? If so, how did you set it up?
Bass Guitar Posted Tuesday at 05:48 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:48 PM (edited) All VST plug ins need the location of the folder where they are located added to the scanner pathways. Otherwise Sonar doesn’t see it. Edit. Sorry it’s not a Plugin but a plug. Edited 22 hours ago by Bass Guitar
Xoo Posted Tuesday at 07:07 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:07 PM It's a physical device: https://www.soundonsound.com/news/ik-multimedia-announce-tonex-plug Windows knows nothing about plugins so if Windows recognises it (and the editor works), it has to be physical. My guess is missing device driver.
user905133 Posted Tuesday at 07:09 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:09 PM I don't have the Tonex Plug, but I did see there were some IK software updates that seem to be related to The Plug. Do you have the latest version of the IK Software? Also, did you look in their forum? Often people raise issues there.
jgarland Posted Tuesday at 11:55 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 11:55 PM (edited) It's a device, not a plugin. All of my IK stuff is up to date. I've been searching for a driver but so far no luck, and the IK Multimedia website does not show anything. I'll have a look in their forums, haven't been there yet.
