MusicMan Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Remember when I made my first plugin back in 2020? Yes! The Smiley is back by popular demand - and it's currently free for you. Download Smiley FREE Think of it like wax for your car. Your mix is clean, but the Smiley gives it that extra gleam. Just make it smile and it adds a vibe that works in tons of scenarios - kind of like those old-school loudness buttons on hifi'sthat made everything instantly more fun to listen to. Whether you use it on your mix bus or automate it in a build from sad to smiley, it's super simple and effective. Download it now - it won't be free forever! Enjoy! kitekrazy Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Beware it is NOT free IMO. It says download the installer and the ink takes you to creating an account. Free is no holds barred download link. not worth it for a "free" plugin when one has to jump through more hoops. It is a place that offer services. If I'm wrong please let me know.

Based on that definition which is quite strict, then yes, it might require that (I'm still to install it, but I assume you're correct). But the email / account doesn't have to cost you any money, so it's a lot different to being able to walk into a shop and say here's my email address and just get a guitar, or something for free and not have to part with actual currency, or finance it. A number of us probably already have at least one other of Streaky's plugins, so in that sense it's not requiring anything extra, so I'd say then it could be seen as free. For the record, I prefer no account either, no installers and simple copy/paste of a key/serial at most, but these days a lot of companies are moving away from that. Still some absolute gems that don't though luckily.
