bertox Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM Yes, i unchecked the "Always copy.." setting and all that.. but every audio file i import gets copied to the Audio Data global folder on C:\. No matter the bitrate or the freq, or if new or old project, ALWAYS get copied despite i say it to don't do that. I think this is a BUG. I remember old Sonars not having this nonsense issue.

I'm not seeing that when the sample rate and bit depth match the project. If I check Associated Audio Files immediately after importing, it's referencing the path to the existing file and that persists when I save the projectso long as the Copy option in the Save dialog is also unchecked.

Well, as i said: its not happening to me, no matter what i set or what file im importing.
Bass Guitar Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) You guys are confusing me? I always thought that the copy audio box in the save dialogue was so that all the audio in the project you are saving gets put in the project audio folder. In my world if you uncheck that Copy Audio box the Audio will not be stored in the Project folders audio folder. This is especially true when you use “Save As “ to a different location. As well as if I start a new project even if there is no audio recorded yet that is how I get the project to be in its own folder. I only uncheck that box if I’m creating a midi only version of a project and using Save As to a different location. That will just create a CWP icon. No folders. See screenshot. I just need to IMPORT my audio files and mix em'. Nothing more. No need to copy em' to another location nor move em'. I need em' to stay where they are. And a DAW should use em' no problem if same sample rate and bit depth of the project. Well, sadly thats NOT HAPPENING here. No matter how i try. It always copy my audio files to the C:\ global folder, wasting my ssd space.
billp Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago How about this setting: Always copy imported audio files. When checked this option forces Sonar to always copy all imported audio files to your audio data directory. If you want to keep all your audio files in one location, always keep this option checked.
