Harvest Moon (Neil Young cover) Mix 2

Hello , Here is a cover of one of my favorite Neil Young songs. It's taken me quite a while to get this one to this point , especially for such a simple song.  Any suggestions for improvement , nit's and crit's welcomed.  Thanks for the listen ..  mark

Weapons-  Takamini and Godin acoustic guitars , home made lap steel , Ibanez bass , piano synth , TTS brush kit , and a few hand held percussion instruments including a paint brush on a chair seat. 😁

Sounds very good. If I had to come up with any kind of criticism it would be that the acoustic guitar sounds a little bass-y. Sounds better than anything I've been working on lately, that's for sure.

Beautiful cover of a beautiful song Mark. You are something!

If you really want a crit, it's that the lead vox is a little too far back in the mix. Maybe back off all the instruments just a touch and it would sit perfectly.

I really like the bass sound and how you managed the mix without backing singers.

Thanks Chaps. I suspect it's the Godin nylon guitar (2 tracks). I'll take a close listen to it in the morning. I Really appreciate the observation and guidance.

Thanks Timbo. I Always struggle with the volume of my own vocals. Not a problem with someone elses. I'll look at closer. As far as the backing singers , I had a pretty hard time with All of the high notes , and even with the Oooh parts.

Great song choice. Haven't heard this song in a very long time. A few times the lead voice gets lost in the mix a bit. I think some gain automation could fix what is otherwise really well done.

Great cover and well done.  I don't know about the volume of the vocals but you did a great job in presenting the lyrics.  Your performance on instruments was pretty doggone good also.

Very nice, Mark. I didn't realize TTS had a brush kit. You are referring to Cakewalk TTS?

Beautiful cover of one of my favorite songs. I saw his one man show back in 1992 where he performed this song as well as others on the Harvest Moon album. The album didn't come out until several months after the tour, kind of backwards from the usual way it's done.
