Never had this before operating under the new Sonar: I record one or more instances of soft synths (mostly Analog Lab V5 and synclavier), no problem. When I open Sonar the next day, all soft synths have raised pitch one semitone. An E will still be an E on the piano roll, but the note coming out is an F and so on. Anyone has encountered this problem? Please help!

Sample rate mismatch. 48/44.1 is inbetween a half and a whole tone. Make sure your interface's sample rate is matching Sonar. This won't usually happen if the interface is dedicated to Sonar using ASIO. If it's onboard audio and/or it's the default device for Windows audio, this is more likely to happen.

It might if the ASIO panel for the interface had it's sample rate changed.  (haven't ever done that, so not sure)

I haven’t heard of this happening for years.
What OS are you using and what are you using for your audio playback?

If you don’t have an audio interface it’s common to have different audio issues using any Daw.

And then make sure you go into Windows sound settings and choose a default sample rate that matches what you use in Sonar. If you watch a lot of videos then 48 is probably best.
Also if you don’t have any interface set Sonar to use WASAPI shared mode and use your computers sound card not HDMI or any other 3rd party driver.
Do not try and use ASIO unless you do have an interface.

It depends on the driver and the state of the Sonar project. Many simply won't allow it while Sonar has control. Others will signal that the rate has changed, and Sonar will either complain about a mismatch if the project has recorded audio in it or tell you it's switching the project rate to match the device if the project is all live synths. In any case, when the two get out of sync, I'm inclined to blame the driver for allowing its rate to be changed without properly signaling that to the app that's using it or not responding to the app's request to change rates.
