Amberwolf Posted yesterday at 04:16 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:16 AM I might be misrembering, but I think Next has it's own format, or can open the new shared format that Sonar saves in. To open .CWP files from CbB, I believe you must use Sonar. If this is the case, then once open in Sonar, you could then resave as a new file using the new shared format with Next. user905133
When I saw this yesterday, I thought "existing Band Lab projects" meant tunes made with Bandlab the web app / Bandlab Studio. @Amberwolf But you might be right. The OP might have meant *.cwp project files created Cakewalk by Bandlab. If so, the Cakewalk Interchange Format might work. Quote The Cakewalk Interchange Format (.cxf) is a project exchange format used to transfer projects between different versions of Cakewalk [from Google AI] I haven't tried using it in a while, but it used to work. It should be in the Cakewalk Sonar and Cakewalk Next manuals.

It should be in the Cakewalk Sonar and Cakewalk Next manuals. I am doing a simple test now. Menu Bar > File > Export > Cakewalk Interchange... Then, I opened Cakewalk Next and dropped the file from Windows into a new project. It worked for me. But I would still recommend checking the manuals for Cakewalk Interchange Format (CXF). I keep forgetting that exists, since it's design is nothing useful to me....so I didn't even think of it when I replied. My apologies to the OP if Bandlab (vs Cakewalk by Bandlab) is what you are referring to, in which case my instructions would be useless.
