Steveau
I've noticed a new unusual behavior recently, I probably have inadvertently changed a setting, but it's got me stumped. After recording a Virtual Instrument, say Spitfire violins, I'll go back and write the CC data from my midi controller for CC 11 and 1, and maybe repeat that until I get it right, and I'll use "write" mode for that track and keep it on Sound on Sound recording, as well, otherwise the notes would be erased, and until recently it would overwrite any previously CC data and substitute my new CC data, now I can only record on top of previously recorded CC data, and the resulting buildup is an up and down jerky mess. Ideas?
Promidi
Just a hunch..... Preferences - Project - Record > Take Behaviour “Create New Lane” In the PRV, all of recorded the CC data will be in the same controller lane. However, in the TV each take will be in their own take lane.
msmcleod
Sound on Sound merges the new take with the existing one - whether you choose to record to a separate lane or not, it'll still end up with both the old and new take on the same track. Choose Overwrite mode if you want to overwrite the old data with new.
Amberwolf
I would guess (without having tested this) that you'd probably have to have the CC data (or whatever it is you want to overwrite) on a separate track from the MIDI notes and other data, so that overwrite mode won't destroy any other data in that section.
