Xiaowenn Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I am a video blogger promoting Cakewalk from China. Recently, my fans have noticed that some MIDI files cannot produce sound on instrument tracks in Sonar and CbB, but they are normal on other DAWs. You know, as a Cakewalk video blogger, I really hope my fans can talk more about the advantages of Cakewalk,. So I'm curious why this happened? In my testing, I found that when I manually adjusted the RPN parameters, the instrument track would produce sound normally. However, this does not require manual adjustment in other DAWs and can be used directly (I tested DAWs such as Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, etc.) The following are MIDI files that encountered problems. We hope that the Cakewalk staff can help test them to see why the problem occurred and how to make Sonar use these "strange" MIDI files directly like other DAWs? TDP_D_Piano_Loop_11.mid
msmcleod Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Remove the RPN events, and it'll work with SI Piano. With any external MIDI file, you should check the MIDI events and their values are actually supported by the synth you're using. Also, the velocity of the notes is very quiet.
