Big J and the H Bombs
Anyone have a good suggestion for a drum kit plugin that has a 1965 or even much earlier sound? Specifically interested in very basic jazz kit plugins with brushes and no built in reverb. I currently use a kit that came with my Sonar Session Drummer some years ago (SmartLoops, GroovyKit Brushes), but I'm finding it rather limited. All my searches for "vintage" drums seem to yield 1970s style drum sounds (or what I refer to as "classic"). Maybe I need to search for "antique" drums instead! OutrageProductions
NI has the Abbey Road Vintage drums, sampled with old skin heads & brushes. I use it often when doing 20's & 30's jazz tracks & Dixieland. I searched extensively in other libraries and nothing compares. Battery 3 had a great brush set circa 2005, but the kit was much newer and brighter. Edited Sunday at 12:43 AM by OutrageProductions

Initially overlooked as I imagined more post 1965 Beatles sounds like so many other folks seem to prefer. Will check it out. Thank you! BTW, do you post any of your vintage jazz and Dixie on BandLab? Would love to her it!
OutrageProductions
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/drums/abbey-road-vintage-drummer/equipment-details/ Scroll down to the equipment list... antique shells & calfskin heads, and they sound old. And my copyrights from the films that I score won't allow me to post samples, sorry.
