September update has screwed everything up

THIS is exactly why I don't like subscription software.  My paid subscription just renewed for the year last month.  New (September) version of Sonar appeared today and I installed it.  Now it tells my "this version of Sonar has expired," and furthermore, it tells me to get a subscription!

Under a permanent license, if an update has an issue, you just install the last working version and go about you music-making.

I will reach out to support, but in the meantime I'm out of luck suing Sonar.

Same problem here. After I installed the September update 2025.09 (build 025) this morning, I was able to run Sonar with a project, close Sonar, and then restart it later with no issue. However, I tried to start Sonar a few minutes ago and now have the same problem as shown above. My license is only about two months old. It was supposed to be for a one-year subscription.

Same here, using free layer. This morning I updated it, and just now, after saving a whole day’s work, I thought: “Okay, I’ll open it again for just a moment, do an export, and then I’m done.” To my surprise—and a bit of panic—it locked me out, saying the version has expired, that it’s not activated, and that it won’t export.

Hi Everyone,

Our apologies, our engineers are aware of this issue and are working to rectify the upcoming September build. If you're currently on the 2025.09 build, please revert to 2025.08 by accessing Product Center and selecting 'Download and Update' under Cakewalk Sonar. Installing this should get you back to version 2025.08

If you're unable to obtain 2025.08, please refer to the link here for the download. Once installed, sign in with your BandLab account to reactivate.

If you're still experiencing issues, please contact us at support@cakewalk.com.

Thank you!

None of the above methods work, unfortunately. The download won't install (keeps saying I have the wrong version of Sonar, even though I followed the above steps) and the first method (accessing Product Center and selecting 'Download and Update) doesn't stop me being locked out either.

I paid for a year subscription. I got up early to finish a cue to a deadline, and now can't export it. This is quite disastrous for the project I'm on. I really can't afford for something like this to happen.

:-(
