brandon
Has anyone had any issues with using this 'vst' in Sonar?
Amberwolf
A more useful question that would help us help you would be to tell us what specific problems you are having, under what specific conditions, with what specific instruments, etc., so that those with experience with those things could suggest changes you can make to corrrect the problems. 2 hours ago, brandon said: Has anyone had any issues with using this 'vst' in Sonar? I can guarantee that the answer to that question is "Yes". It is not a useful answer, but it is the actual answer. ptheisen
I can also assure you that at least one person (me) and probably many others, have used Kontakt in the various Cakewalk related DAWS for years without issues. It is very commonly used around here. As Amberwolf said, if you indicate the specifics of the issues you are having, it is likely that others can help you become one of those that use Kontakt without issues. Good enough for me - many thanks

The main problems I have with Kontakt have to do with me having used this over multiple versions, and certain quirks with NI, etc. For example, if you want to have one of your older libraries display in the new browser, you have to do what is called a "batch resave". However, doing so will make that library unreadable to older versions of Kontakt. Furthermore, Cakewalk does not have the ability to replace an instance of an older version of Cakewalk with a newer version. However, if you are simply using the latest version of Kontakt you will be fine.
Bonzos Ghost
I've used Kontakt for years and it's used in every project to some degree. It's a very complex beast if you get under the hood and create your own multi-sampled instruments. It's also very straightforward if you don't get under the hood. Having said that, I don't believe it's ever crashed on me - (at least that I can recall right now....probably has, but it's rare.) Once a library is loaded it behaves just fine, but as already mentioned you need to be aware of what version you have and what version the library you're using requires. There will always be people that have nothing but problems with certain software and others that have few or none. Look no further than this forum for people having all kinds of issues with Sonar / Cakewalk, etc. while others have never had the issues they're experiencing. I've been using Cakewalk since ... forever. Yes, it's gonna crap the bed once in a while, but EVERY daw will do that for one reason or another once in a while. For me, it works fine 99% of the time. Same applies to Kontakt, but you do need to learn a little about how it handles sample libraries, etc. so you don't create any hiccups.
