Cannot upload dump files?

Both this forum and a link sent to m e by support will NOT allow the large files to be uploaded???

This thread may get closed or deleted but after 35 years of pouring my $$$ into Cakewalk products I am tossed aside.
I did get a response but the link would NOT allow the dump files to be uploaded.
I don't get it.

It truly saddens me after 35 years.........

As explained in your other thread, you must upload the dump file to a file-sharing site such as Dropbox, then message the link to them. Or, zip it first to take the file down to an uploadable size.

In one of your replies you even quoted Mark's post in which he gave clear directions on how to do it.

Clear directions to do what? I know how to upload a file. I also filled in my full name and email address and I guess my GOOGLE photo (whatever that is needed for by CW?) at the Cakewalk Support form?????

I do not want to SIGN up for dropbox....

So is the cakewalk OFFICIAL SUPPORT FORM not a file dropping site? what the heck is it for then? tiny dump files?

Every forum site has a file attachment size limit. Every onboard direct messaging API/app has a file attachment size limit. Email clients have a file attachment size limit. All of which are commonly far less than the typical system diagnostic dump file size.

So your only alternative is to upload it to a FTP protocol server like Dropbox or Google Drive, set it to be sharable, and then forward the URL link to the interested parties so they can download it... or you can run around in a circle chasing your tail.

Or not.

Your call.

Thanks you but I do NOT want to pay a dropbox subscription-Is that really that hard to understand?

Is it really beyond the pale to expect the company that sells the product to have a way for their OWN DUMP files to be uploaded so they can help their customers and THEMSELVES?

You do not have to pay for 15gb of google drive.  And perhaps even the free version of dropbox will work as long as  the file  is under 2gb.  Good luck with all this.  Please let us know if you need more help with this.

I appreciate the info and the empathy..........I installed the WinDbg from Microsoft for the hell of it. dump files open no problem.

Issue is I do not understand what I am looking at  🙂 Got a new dump file just now and it s still very large, even compressed.

BUT, the forum and the CW support Form submission place both say they exceed the 4.8MN limit? They are NOT that large. At least not on my C drive.

Free cloud storage is available from providers like Google Drive (15GB), Microsoft OneDrive (5GB), Mega (20GB), and Dropbox (2GB).
Pick one and get some help from the Bakers, cuz very few people here can decipher a dump file completely.
Or not.
Your call.

It's almost as if you don't really want to solve this issue.

Oh I don't.

Look I know I am not the only person with Cancer (CML) on this forum-plus severe anemia that they cannot find the cause and I get transfusions every month for now. Also waiting for back surgery for severe spinal stenosis... 2 months away............Otherwise I am fine.

I don't need crappy remarks like yours and some others. I AM TRYING

I am really sorry you are going through this and I pray that your health issues go away.  You might try a private message to some of the Bakers here and see if something can be arranged fir assistance. They are good people.
