user905133
A couple of years ago I picked up a DJ Swivel plugin as part of a Stay Creative Bundle from Plug-in Boutique. (You know, the kind of thing where they put together an assortment of low-cost odds 'n' ends.) So today I received an e-mail related to the D J Swivel / PA thing. Not endorsing nor poo-pooing either of them. Just wanted to pass this on in case others also have DJ Swivel stuff. So check your e-mail as sometimes stuff like this goes into a Spam, Trash, or other such bin. Quote Hey Swivel Audio family We have some important updates for you. DJ Swivel Plugins has officially rebranded as Swivel Audio, and we’ve partnered with Plugin Alliance to deliver a more robust licensing system, smoother installation, and ongoing updates. To continue using your plugins, you’ll need to migrate your licenses to the new Swivel Audio system before December 31, 2025. After this date, the old DJ Swivel activation servers will be shut down, and the legacy versions of our plugins will no longer work, even if they’re already installed. UPDATE: The e-mail has some steps to follow (basically logging into your DJ Swivel Account to get some information), but those steps didn't work for me--perhaps their server is overwhelmed ATM or being changed. Who knows? But, since I have my serial number, all I needed to do is (1) copy that and (2) put it into the PA site where it says to use the serial number as a Voucher. From there it was a $0.00 purchase following the usual steps, Hope this helps if you can't get into the DJ Swivel server. Easy Peezee...just get your license number, go to PA, log into your account, click "redeem voucher", paste the license and click "redeem" and the product will be added to the cart with a price of ZERO, and check out! Then install from the PA installation Manager@ Edited Friday at 04:44 PM by cclarry 3
user905133
Yup!! That's the one. I guess that means we'll have to give Spread a try. I sort of remember trying it when I first got it! I have no idea if I used it for anything I might want to revisit, but I migrated today just in case.
PhonoBrainer
Spread is great for making the bass more mono, and making the shimmery top things wider. Very easy to use, its a great gui design.

United Plugins gave away Wide Fire and it is pretty good (no computer limits for personally owned machines) Melda has options Boz Mongoose Izotope Imager is free (depending on which feature you need at a given time might work) JST Sidewider was a free with CM offering Even other plugins alliance plugins have built in stereo expanders (with a bass cross over) Mono maker and stereo width knobs. Lots of their plugins have this built in. Also agree that spread is pretty good, just noting there are many options, many of which people might have already.

Wasn't the Stay Creative bundle a gift during pandemic lockdown? IIRC, the first place I saw the name DJ Swivel was a collaboration with Soundspot. Since one of the most common uses of Soundspot plug-ins back when they existed was to qualify for PB BOGO's, I wound up with many Soundspot licenses. Some quite good, others useless (or worse). I don't have all of them installed any more, but there are still some gems.

I didn't even know I owned it, but sure enough I got that free bundle too and the serial worked in the voucher section on the PA website! I would've totally missed this one. Starship Krupa Posted yesterday at 11:00 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:00 AM (edited) I had uninstalled due to, as Brian says, having other spread management tools like Mongoose, but I just now reinstalled it via Plugin Alliance. At least with the PA version, there don't seem to be any presets or any documentation or tooltips, so that might have also put me off. Does anyone know if there's documentation for the thing? It looks capable and has an attractive UI, but I can't figure out what all of the controls do. Mr. Swivel and his associates went to the trouble to create the thing, then gave me a license for it, and I'd like to give it a fair shake. Ah, I see the PA version has the usual bar along the bottom with the "?" on the right....thanks!
user905133
Thanks for pointing that out. Unfamiliar as I am with PA plugins, I didn't know that the "?" had an open-the-manual/guide task. Using a file finding program, I already knew I had the document on my drive; just not that the "?" opened up the file from that location along with other "Help" things (which seems to vary from plugin to plugin). Since the new Cakewalk Core FX don't have any built-in help, I think that such a thing might be a way to go about equipping them with documentation.
