SuperFreq Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I saw the pinned thread saying the activation deadline has been extended to Sep 30, but as of today (Aug 21) I'm still "Activation required" / "Unable to refresh activation"
Guylum Alfaro Posted August 21 Posted August 21 was in a similar boat before i found this forum when Bandlab was supposed to be discontinued 20 days ago. even despite extension i can not afford sonar and would like to still work on my projects. hopefully whoever sees this can give me some solace and let me know whether I'll still be able to access my projects and work on them with my version of cakewalk. mainly because I've had some client based work and i would hate to lose access simply because I'm poor and would rather pay for a one time license rather than subcription lol

James Argo Posted August 22 Posted August 22 You have to be in the latest version of CbB to activate. Otherwise, you won't be able to activate. Check your version on Help --> About Cakewalk. The "bad news" is, if it's not the latest, there is no way to update to the latest version since it's not available in Product Center anymore. Your only option will be to update to Cakewalk Sonar.

James Argo Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Some people can not upgrade to Sonar due to OS requirement. Even if it's not supported, CbB can be installed on older WIndows (My 10 years laptop still uses Windows 7). It's not broken at all, in fact it runs faster and does everything I need to do without problem. The new Product Center can only be installed on Win 10 and newer. 1

Would love to try the new Sonar, but I'm rooted to Windows 7 due to legacy hardware, so CbB is/was my only option. Would love to see them work out the activation issue so I can at least get projects squared away.
