To qualify, I had mostly bought a single cheap one in a series, and then used their reoccurring deals to upgrade to the whole set for a heavily discounted price. I had also for instance bought cheap Beatmaker instruments during 808 day for €8.08 each. In the end, I paid €119 for all the remaining plugins. That included all pianos and all orchestral instruments, none of which I previously had. As for the pianos, they are definitely different to normal piano plugins when run in Player mode. Pretty fun! I have Reverb v1, I think I picked it up as a freebie, but v2 shows as a separate/paid product for me, not as a free upgrade. They fixed your free upgrade from v1 to v2?
