Arron Burke Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I bought cakewalk many years ago (twelve tone), and have been using it in one form or another since. I just installed the free level of the latest Sonar, looks quite usable, and probably has more features than I'll ever use. One disappointing event, a nag screen at the opening? What is this, the 80's? Such an annoying and useless "feature", nearly makes me want to uninstall.
OutrageProductions Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Congratulations on busting your virgin cherry while using ANY kind of 'free' software. 2

Surely a 10 sec nag screen is a small price to pay for free software ? J 2
TracingArcs Posted August 11 Posted August 11 The nag screen and small number of omissions with regards to functionality I feel are a small price to pay for such a comprehensive, free program. I am able to open songs from Sonar V2, V5, V8.5. (Bloody hell Harry!!). 1
kitekrazy Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Then there is Tracktion that doesn't do this. I don't think the UAD one does this either. That's an option but I don't like either of them. I think in the highly competitive world of DAWs it's sub price is not to my liking. I get that you are getting more services than a DAW but how many people find that appealing? It must be enough to where they aren't changing their business model. Look at Waves and they still exist.
