Salvatore Sorice
Seems like a bug - can anyone reproduce? > Open a project > Immediately Click on the Notes tab of the Browser, then type some text in the Notes field (don't do anything other than Click/Type) > Close Sonar (either by File/Close or click X in upper right) You don't get prompted to Save Changes and the Notes are lost (i.e., reopen the Project and they're gone). However, if you enter some text in the Notes field and then click anywhere else (taking the focus away from the Notes field) you do get prompted to Save changes. Magic Russ
I've had this happen too and have reported it.
David Baay
I would say this is working as designed, the same as anything else you type and don't commit by hitting Enter or OK. In this case since Enter would create a new line, you either have to click the OK at the bottom of the pane or click away to another part of the app as you discovered. Another method I often use to commit changes and give keystrokes back to the main app without having to touch the mouse is to hit Tab which moves focus to the Name field and then Esc. Thanks @David Baay but this seems counterintuitive to me, as (I think) most Windows apps will prompt if you type anything (i.e. alter the document) and then try and close. As a test, did it in Wordpad, Word, Excel, etc. and they all prompted if I just opened a new document, typed text and tried to close (without hitting Enter, etc.). The Notes field of Sonar is not a document; the project as a whole is the document, and it hasn't changed until you commit the edit. That said, I found that uncommitted edits to track/bus names and control values get committed when you click to close the project which sets the dirty flag and prompts to save. So on that basis I have to agree that it's a bit inconsistent that the Notes field doesn't do the same.
