bertus weyers Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I have just downloaded the new Cakewalk next and I must say I'm extremely disgusted with it. After many years of CbB I think I'm finally over it. This new Sonar is useless and doesn't work at all. Firstly I cannot get any sound from it. What happened to Wasapi? Now with the only options being ASIO (with a lot of latency) or Windows (even worse). The font colour cannot be changed, output will not adjust, no buffer sizes available, no instrument rack, etc etc. And when I try to close it it just refuses to do so. I have to restart my computer. I will stay with CbB until I find another DAW that I'm comfortable with and then sorry, I'm gone. Very sad, I enjoyed trouble-free years of Cakewalk but now it's become impossible to use. You have to be a rocket scientist to use this DAW. Please Cakewalk, change back to CbB interface, this new one is absolute RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1
Chaps Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Cakewalk Next isn't Cakewalk Sonar. Sonar is the Cakewalk by BandLab replacement. 1

Cakewalk by BandLab evolved into Cakewalk Sonar. Cakewalk Sonar keeps (almost) all of the features that Cakewalk by BandLab had and adds some new ones. It definitely has Synth Rack and supports WASAPI. Cakewalk Next is an entirely separate DAW, designed for a more stripped down workflow.
