UCG Musician Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Is there a better way to enter notes in Staff View than selecting note duration in the Draw Tool? It is taking me far too long to enter music through this method (the only one I know). I'm not looking for a punch and entry from MIDI keyboard because the results are never in proper rhythm and have to be quantized to get correct durations. That's as cumbersome as the first method.
Scott R. Garrigus Posted August 1 Posted August 1 You can use keyboard shortcuts to choose durations, which allows you to keep your mouse in place while you enter notes. Whole note = Ctrl+Shift+1 Half note = Ctrl+Shift+2 Quarter = Ctrl+Shift+4 Eighth = Ctrl+Shift+8 Sixteenth = Ctrl+Shift+6 Thirty second = Ctrl+Shift+3 1

You can automatically make the notes snap it's starting point to the nearest beat, whether quarter note, 16th note, up to 128nd note in the piano roll. At least I assume you're talking about the piano roll view.
