GBTBassist
Hi Sonar users Has anyone come across, and found a solution for, midi automation envelopes that slip out of synch with the midi notes? I have a guitar midi (Session guitarist, Electric Vintage through Kontakt). I have created a midi track that I have then added some 'string bend articulations via a midi automation envelope on the 'Wheel' control. When I play the track the bend appears in the right place but when I come to record the audio (not ready to bounce the track yet) the bend appears a bar after it actually should so it is mid phrase rather than the end of the phrase. TPQ is set to 960 Scarlett 4i4 latency reported as 1242 samples and compensation and ASIO reported Latency in Record Latency Adjustments is the same. Full chase lock is set. NB the audio plays exactly aligned to the midi notes on the bar and records exactly aligned to the bar too, it is only the automation that is out of synch otherwise I would just slip edit back to the right place but I have a note that should bend starting at 6:02:00 and end at 7:03:00. It actually bends 7:02:00 and ends at 8:03:00. Tearing my hair out with this. GBT
msmcleod
Can you send a copy of your project to @Jonathan Sasor? We'll take a look.

Some specific hardware setups have exhibited issues like this in the past related to count-in being enabled, and in at least one case, it affected all users. Whenever things are exactly a measure off, it's always a good idea to check whether count-in makes a difference. This might also be related to inserting soft synths in FX bins rather than in the Synth Rack.
David Baay
@msmcleod I can confirm there's an issue with sync of wheel events when recording soft synth audio with count-in engaged. For me it's more than a simple offset of the timing by a measure. I'll PM a demo project. 2
GBTBassist
Hi @David Baay That was it! 👏👏👏, I removed metronome count in from the project preferences and lo and behold - all is good with the world again. @msmcleod Do I need to post this to the feedback group as it never happened in CbB using the exact same set up (I just opened an old CbB project CWP in Sonar with the same hardware)? Thanks again David, really appreciated. GBT Edited 14 hours ago by GBTBassist added msmcleod to reply
