Request for BandLab Sounds library: sound effects

Recommended Posts

While the BandLab Sounds are many (160,000?), varied in genre and useful for song construction, something that I would LOVE to see is a library of environmental sound effects. Water, wind, wildlife, transportation, city soundscapes, weather, etc.

I know that such sounds are available from free sources such as the BBC library, but it would be great if BandLab had just one SFX loop pack among the 160,000.

A pack of one hit "foley" sounds like handclaps, gunshots, crashes, splashes, laughs etc. would also be useful.

Of course, if sound effects are already in there somewhere, please tell me how to find them and then the FR will be about making the Search function easier to navigate.😄

P.S. For the well-meaning and helpful, this is not a request for sources of sound effects. I know where I can find them, I just think it would be cool for there to be a BandLab pack or two of them.

I poked around and don't see a specific place for it, just this https://help.bandlab.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404926548121-How-do-I-contact-BandLab

I found that too and actually sent them a ticket. Got a nice response saying that it was a great idea and that they would forward it to the ideas people.

Then I found this mere hours after this pleasant exchange😣:

Either I need to get good at navigating the search function or BandLab are QUICK about following up on users' good ideas.😄

How did I miss this? Well, I've had trouble with finding things in the sounds collection. Not trouble that I can fully articulate at the moment. I need to spend time with it and see how I'm missing things.

There's some interesting stuff in here. It says there are 142 sound effects and Foley collections, and each one seems to have about 100 sounds, so maybe 14,000 individual sounds in this category? I'm kinda blown away. One of the membership benefits. Takes care of my sound effect library needs right inside the program.

It seems too obvious to have missed, so my guess is they had them in there under some other type of sound name, making them harder to find, or they were under some subcategory instead of a top-level of their own.

Unfortunately I am quite capable of missing something in plain sight. 🙄This feature also hasn't been around long for me to get good at.

The only thing that comes to mind is that I somehow had another category or categories already selected, which could mask the presence of what I was looking for. Maybe it was a fluke.
