Just because there is more that they want to do should not hold us all up for the other benefits like the reduced latency. And it is likely that after they create more graphic options that there will be other things that are not "bug" related. By the way, I just recorded a great session drummer today who works with many DAWs of many producers and he was impressed with Sonar. I hope you have great success with whatever DAW you use. I reiterate, what you wrote has no correlation to what I was responding to. If you scroll up you'd see someone else said it wasn't finished, not me, and I responded tongue in cheek to that comment. I don't understand the insistence or hostility in convincing me of anything one way or the other. I've been using cakewalk since 2006. It's literally the only DAW I've ever used. There's no need for arm twisting one way or the other here. Have a good day. Edited 10 hours ago by Helios.G

Thats the way i add a soft synth. YMMV of course. I've never used that method, I just drag and drop mine from the Browser. I dind it quicker..well I did except the text is harder to read now than CbB 😐
User 905133
In addition to the Synth Rack method and the Browser method, there are other options / methodological variations for inserting instrument / soft synths tracks (and configuring the properties, etc.), including the Menu method: Menu Bar > Insert > Soft synth... I understand that (1) different users have different go-to personal preferences, (2) some users (like me) appreciate having multiple methods to achieve a particular end, and (3) some users dislike the pluralistic approach. JMO: Personally, I like multiple methods because I feel it gives me more power to use the different methods in my different workflows (which can vary based on ATM tasks), and can be encapsulated into different [custom] Workspaces (not currently selectable Sonar's Free Tier). John Vere
I think when I went to make the beginner tutorial for how to use VST instruments the first version was 30 minutes long because I attempted to demonstrate all 6 ways you could do this. I redid it later and decided to only describe the Add Track and the Drag and drop. I find those the easiest to teach. It cut the time down to 12 minutes. Ultimately the overall fastest way to a complete track with all the goodie’s is to use a Track Template.

If I remember correctly, you and I either exchanged PMs and/or discussed this publicly in the forum. Not sure if I mentioned it in one of those places, but JMO: I think keeping it simple in a video directed towards newcomers and referencing a separate video detailing the additional methods is a wise choice. JMO: Similarly, for those who prefer to use Track Templates (as well as for the sake of simplicity in some workflows) using Track Templates can be very efficient.

There is something about posts on the internet as compared to in -person conversations that seem to exaggerate positions. I am just trying to explain my viewpoint on the "not finished" aspect and why I highly value the Sonar release, and I do not have any negative aspersions about you personally. While I have my own opinions, I try to value the opinion of others, including those that disagree with me. If two people think exactly alike, one of them is not thinking. I wish all the best for you, sincerely. Edited 16 hours ago by AB9
