Supertone Clear crashes Sonar but works fine in CbB (and other DAWS) on the same machine

Every time I try to load Supertone Clear in Sonar - Sonar freezes.

The program loads fine on the same computer running CbB as well as other DAWs like Reaper.  

 

Trying to make the switch over to Sonar with CbB about to be sunset, but this is certainly going to be an issue.  Anyone else have Supertone Clear (on the latest version, with success in the current Sonar build)?

Is Sonar freezing when you use Clear in both VST and VST3 formats?

I actually don't see a VST version, only the VST3.

 

I checked disabled plugs as well as unchecked the box for "hide related VST2 plugins)

Sonar is also the only DAW giving me this:

but not actual plugin name is referenced.

This looks like something that's not a vst file is getting scanned. Make sure your scan paths are set to appropriate folders and not like an entire drive path.

I have Supertone Clear. I just tried it out with Sonar free tier and it worked fine for me. No freezing on my system.

Looks pretty normal to me:

(and I'm not seeing anything that isn't a VST3 or DLL in those folders for what it is worth)

C:\program files\steinberg is likely the culprit there. Usually that would be C:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins.

I removed that.

Still having the issue with Supertone clear crashing Sonar every time, but not getting

If supertone uses Webview that could be the issue? That's a dll but not a vst dll

Else have you tried a reset. /rescan?

I have done a rescan via the built in tool, but it continues to fail and throw this error  (even after removing the steinberg path)

 

I did not fine that file in any of the VST paths, but I'm also now searching the entire C drive to see if it shows up at all

Suggestion.

Remove all the VST paths (note them down first!) and reset.

Do you get the error?

Add one back in and rescan?

Do you get the error?

Repeat until the error comes up.  Then look in that folder and its subfolders for anything that looks "odd".

Looks like it was UAD plugin related.

 

I deleted all the files related to that.  

 

Reset the scan again but Sonar scans a bunch of plugins but then gets stuck on some random VST3

 

First it was AAS Lounge Lizard Session

Now it is stuck on DAWsome LOVE

 

I manually force the rescan failed plugins multiple times.  Supertone Clear doesn't say it failed at any stage but still crashes Sonar.

 

Other plugins seem fine so far and CbB still works with Supertone Clear, but Sonar does not.
