Will CWB (Ver. 2024.12 Build 125, 64bit) continue working after Aug 1st or not?

I joined a band playing keyboards a couple months ago and needed a Sysex/VST solution for live performance so being somewhat familiar with Cakewalk I decided to go with the free version of Cakewalk by Bandlab. The past couple months I've been setting up each song I do with this band to send Sysex to my hardware synths and to load up whatever VST synths I use. I exclusively use the playlist editor to setup each song as we progress through our setlist. We're just about ready to perform and now I'm getting notifications to either switch to Sonar or the free version but isn't this version I've been using (Ver. 2024.12 Build 125, 64bit) already the free version or do I need to update it somehow? Will it stop working after August 1st? I really don't want to find myself at a gig and unable to load my keyboard setups.

Version 2024.12 Build 125 is the most recent version of CbB.

Cakewalk by Bandlab will not reactivate after August 1.  An activated CbB will stay activated after August 1.  However, when that activation runs out, it will not reactivate.  When that happens depends on when the last time CbB reactivated.

My understanding is that an unactivated CbB can still load projects.  OK you will get a toast that CbB is unactivated. You will not be able to save or export your projects.

Going to Sonar Free Tier (or preferably, Sonar Premium via a Bandlab paid Membership) would be the way to go.

See:

Note: If any of the above is incorrect, I am happy to be corrected.

I used Cakewalk in a similar way a year ago so I totally sympathize.
But I also think that you are taking a big risk using free software at a gig. You will have no guarantee of dependability. I am a huge believer in making sure that nothing can go wrong at a gig and that there is always a backup plan. The difference between a pro and an amateur.

Your best option is to purchase the annual membership. Then the internet will not be involved and potential time outs.
Bottom line is the membership version is designed for professionals. The free version is for hobbyists.

And I noticed that they have updated some stuff for the playlist  in the latest release. There’s also a possibility that they may decide to make the playlist a Golden Crown feature for members only.
