Helios.G
I was looking online while I was trouble shooting something minor in new sonar, when I came across this image of cakewalk next's gui. Honestly, I don't care if we get full blown themes, or editors again.... but why for the love of god does next have the easy to make out track colors and sonar doesn't? It's literally all I ask for 😭😭
AB9
Sonar went to vector graphics. There are several reasons for vector graphics. So some patience will be required while they work on more color editing possibilities. Meanwhile, clips can be selected and colors can be chosen - both for foreground and background. Perhaps not ideal but it works. 2

John Vere
I too found this odd as well as a few of the cool things Next can do that Sonar can’t. like Stem Separation Drag a midi file to an empty project and it instantly populates the project with instrument tracks and pretty decent sounds. Sonar no longer includes the TTS-1 and it still uses midi tracks instead of instrument tracks. Sonar now requires a lot of work to just take a midi file and set it up with the correct sounds. Next does this in like 5 seconds. Sonar no longer has GM sounds or much of anything for instruments. Next has a lot and many are very good quality. Simple, but well done. I would imagine that they have some sort of plan to use these in Sonar someday. Working with audio loops is far easier. Even I figured it out how to make a drum track that plays at the correct tempo in a few minutes without reading the instructions.

My observations: I am using Sonar and it has option for "Instrument Track". If you have installed TTS-1 from a previous legacy Sonar installation, it is still there in Sonar. I have never noticed it taking "a lot of work to take a midi file and set it up with the correct sounds". How long does it take you?
