'The Monarch Kit' 'Groves' Midi drag & drop into Sonar not working

Trying to drag & drop midi from Monarch Kit in Kontakt 8 into Sonar but does not work

Ive seen it done by streamers who are using other DAWs and the Monarch GUI tells you to do this

Generally midi data can be dragged into an empty space on the track view and it will create a new track. 
You can also drag midi clips to an instrument or midi track. 
Are you sure the clips are midi? 
They might be in a format that Sonar doesn’t support.
