Looks like they have moved to a once a year new version cycle to push people to WUP unnecessarily even faster.

The company is 33 years old and the versions would last a few years....until recently.

Logged in, and all my plugins WUP expires in four days.   Timing in my life has never been great, but it worked out this time!  If I didn't sneak into V16, I wouldn't have done WUP for a couple of years I'm sure.  Especially since there really isn't anything that interesting in V16.

As you have to manually upgrade to the latest version even if you have WUP, is it the case that you will lose out on the free upgrade if you forget to do this before WUP expires ?

worst licensing in the industry - unfortunately it seems to be working for them

if you have more than one machine it gets even more confusing

for the Waves apologists I have deaf ears

BTW also check your upgrade pricing as well - seems like there are some good values for plugin noarders

Who knows but if I was on WUP I would to get resizable UI across all plugins as well as have the tech support if something breaks.  

 

If you are outside WUP even if they did let you upgrade you would be outside of support and have to pay for WUP for them to help you get operational again.

The UI resizable update is about the most meaningful thing I recall them doing in the last 5 years.

Glad I ditched them when Super Clear was able to replace Clarity VX which was the only thing keeping me tied.

As someone who works across multiple computers the single seat when now on WUP is absurd.  This isn't 1985 when only the Uber Rich could afford more than. One computer.

Not that I'm a fan, but you can put your licenses on a USB stick and make them a little more portable. 

For the few that I did WUP, I like the "new" preset browser too. However, I think that sort of "upgrade" should be included...

BTW...this version includes the new Waves FREE Plugin Pack that contains 7 Plugins (I think)

If you own any of the plugins included in the Waves Free Plugin Pack, you can access the V16 versions of those plugins for free by updating to the latest Waves Free Plugin Pack software in Waves Central. If you do not have a Waves Free Plugin Pack license, you can add one to your account here.

Yeah I did that out of necessity but really didn't like it.  

Laptops have fewer and fewer ports and between using an interface and a decent mouse, external drive, etc the space is a lot a premium and if you compound that with ilok and others it really is unacceptable for software one has legitimately paid for.  

Even my desktop has gotten out of control with the ports with everything I use between audio, video, and photography.

My WUP for Plat is 81, upgrade to Diamond is 58 - LOL just LOL!
