Smashing Galaxy Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Hi all, A simple song here for critique please. Have spent some time on the mastering and mixing. It's short - a simple love song about missing home. Any feedback - technical / creative v welcome. Cheers. top of the pops 21 june 2025.mp3 4
Morenoize Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Hi Smashing Galaxy, nice tune, well sung, wish the guitar was a bit louder. Rik 1
Smashing Galaxy Posted June 22 Author Posted June 22 thanks! useful feedback, i will do some more tweaking in the mix. really appreciate the time you took to listen. cheers.
treesha Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I like it, I like your voice. I was going to suggest strings, but then some came in i think. I would add some high strings, add another verse to make it longer if you have more to say. Enjoyed it. 1
mark skinner Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Fantastic vocals . I think I'd bring the chorus in again at the ending and resolve it with "I'll be coming home soon". Maybe a couple of time with the last phrase. Great song , enjoyed it .. mark 1 1

Yes the more I listen back, the more I think I could add another verse / chorus.... I wrote it years ago but only recently recorded it, so it's been dormant for years. Will tinker and come back here with new version. I can't take credit for the voice, that's my friend and collaborator.

Yes the commonest feedback I get is, "it's a bit short"... Definitely worth thinking about stretching it out a bit.
