PhaedrusHH
I have EW HO Diamond. I like it and use it every once in a while. I could not find an upgrade path. Some people suggest contacting support, but I couldn't find info on what the price difference would be if that really works. What is different about the opus edition? I don't need or want the orchestrator. Apart from that it seems there are only a few slightly different sounding patches? For that 180 still seems like a lot. My GAS wants me to buy, but I feel I might have buyers remorse later...

I'd say if you're somewhat happy using Play wait till you find a deal you really can't resist. There are good bundle deals pretty often. Here's a video of the new features, some of them are only useful if you have a subscription though.
kitekrazy1
$180 for an orchestra is the best price you will get While you don't have to install all of it the whole thing takes up almost 1TB of space. ptheisen
It certainly is a good price. It was on sale for $249 last December. I bought it at that time because I thought that was a great deal. I did not bother to demo it by subscribing to their Composer Cloud for a month. I should have done that, and recommend that anyone considering EWQL products do that, since no returns or resales are allowed. I quickly realized that HOOPUS was not for me, so no matter what the price was or is, it's not a good deal if I will never use it, and I doubt I ever will. It's $161 with the 10% off coupon. NI SYMPHONY SERIES COLLECTION is currently $99. That's not as coherent as Opus as it's produced by multiple developers and recorded in different venues. It's also under 200GB all in. If you own Komplete Ultimate, you can buy the Crossgrade for around $65.
