Descamps
Hello, First, I have to mention that I'm french so please be comprehensive for my english 😉 It make several years that I am using cakewalk sonar. I am found of this very good software. Unfortunately I am faced with a behaviour I have since several monthes and I don't know how to solve it. It is very boring to work with this behaviour/bug. In fact, when I am working on a project around between each 10 th seconds or 30th seconds I have the waiting blue circle which shows the application is waiting for something. I am then completly blocked and I need to wait several seconds it stops. Just before the application become usable I have the error message "Not responding". I have tried several settings changes but the problem still remains. My PC configuration has not changed. Before it was working correctly. I would realy appreciate the help of someone who have already experienced such a problem and managed to solve it. My configuration is: AMD Ryzen 2700 Motherboard: asus prime x470-pro 16 GO Ram (only 10 Go are used while running cakewalk) SSD 1 To Cakewalk Sonar Version 2024.12 (build 125, 64 bits). Thanks a lot in advance ! Have a nice day Stephane

Jim Fogle
Is the problem with one song project or all song projects? Is it possible you are using a plug-in that requires authorization?
Promidi
Have you excluded all Cakewalk folders (program, projects and and all VST and Cakewalk sample content ) from any real time antivirus scanning functions? Do you have any wireless input devices or network adapters? If so, considered wired for all of these (even if just as a test). Do you have any unnecessary programs that start when the PC start and continues to run in the background? Do you have any unnecessary graphic driver addons - for example, if you have an Nvidia or AMD graphics adapter, do you have just the drivers installed without any of their respective ancillary software. (No MSI Afterburner or anything like that) No ASIO4ALL or any other wrapper installed? Remove, if yes.

Descamps
Hello Promidi and Jim, Thank you for your advices. To answer your questions I have the problem with all project songs. I've tried to exclude all plug-ins but the issue still remains. Promidi, I've excluded all the Cakewalk folders that the runtime antivirus could scan and I've checked all the advices you've suggested me but the problem remains... What is strange it's that the waiting blue circle (that block any user actions, ex. mouse clicking) is happening only while running Cakewalk. In all others softwares the behavior doesn't happen... In the Cakewalk parameters I have already tried to set buffer of my soundcard to "fast", "balanced" and "proof" without success. I am using a synthetizer connected on midi. The reading and recording of a song is working properly without stops. I am not using ASIO4ALL. For information, I am using Windows 10. My soundcard is a behringer U-PHORIA UMC204HD. Do you have other advices ? In the preferences/configuration of Cakewalk, under Audio and configuration file I've seen lots of parameters can be changed. I've never modified anything here. Is there something to change ? Thank you in advance. Stephane
Promidi
I have never had this issue with any version of Cakewalk or Sonar. Try using Latecymon to see if it can help pinpoint the issue. https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon
reginaldStjohn
Could it be auto saving? There are options to auto-save every so many minutes or after so many saves.
