Bypassing my Steinberg C1 interface

Recommended Posts

Does the Fender Mustang have its own USB audio interface? If so, then yes. You would need to install any drivers required by your Mustang. Then go into Cakewalk preferences and deselect your current interface, both ins and outs, select you mustang inputs and you should be ready to go.

I have the Fender Mustang I and it's capable of interfacing with a computer via USB, BUT (notice that's a big but), it uses its own driver, which means you won't be able to use an audio interface with ASIO drivers and the Mustang at the same time. Another driver mode could cause timing issues, intolerable latency and possibly other problems.
You would have to try it with another driver mode, such as WASAPI or the older WDM/KS. WASAPI would probably give the best result here, if the Mustang can operate with it.
The best use of the Fender USB interface I can see is for downloading new and different patches created by other Mustang users from the internet.
I didn't purchase my Mustang for the ability to interface with a computer.

I bought mine 4-5 years ago and perhaps things have changed since then. Good luck!
