Lost large section of plugin manager data.

I have backups, but I have made hours of changes on the version with the missing section. Is there any hack to save the lost section and import it back to the newer one? 
I had some software that someone here wrote. I can’t remember if it is capable of this task???

Are you talking about saved plugin layouts or someother data?  If they are plugin layouts they are just files so you should be able to open a backup and recreate the missing data.  If it is something else then i don't know what to suggest.

I didn’t even know they were text files! I’ll go open one up just in a little bit thanks!

I looked at the pkg files. The look to be some type xml files. I’m not sure if I could correctly edit them with notepad.

If regular notepad won't work, you can probably use https://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html

You can use a tool like https://beautifytools.com/xml-beautifier.php to make it more readable. After beutifying it you can paste it back into notepad and try to add the sections you are missing.

Or, I thought you had a backup? Just replace the file with your backup.

Yes I have many backups. What happened is I added and organized things quite a bit I opened it up and one of my main folders got deleted. I blame it on my phone. The screen is too sensitive. Sometimes it clicks when I assume it since the heat from my finger or something. I just need to move the synth (lost folder) to the current layout. I’ll look at the editor. That would be a great addition for the current plugin layout  editor. I tried excel it was a no go.

Thanks. I have used https://www.scintilla.org but not notepad2. I will look into it.
