SOLVED Automation working, but no control animation

Version 2024.12 Build 125

Automation working on old projects. This one started off as all MIDI files running into a TTS-1. Replacing it with individual VSTs. If I record automation I can see it in the clips, and I can hear it, but the controls don't animate.

 

Probably related: Fader is at -6. I open automation lane for volume and it shows 0. I enable Write and the fader jumps to 0. Disable Write and it jumps back to -6. 

Seeing as it works properly in old projects there is just something funny somewhere in this project.

EDIT: Solved; Envelope/Offset mode was switched on.

Are you in offset mode?   This shows a (+) on the controls in my ancient version, not sure if they kept the symbol in the later versions.   In my version O toggles this mode on / off.
