Milton Sica
Friends, I'm finally going to be able to migrate from my historic TASCAM US-600 to a new interface and, after evaluating several of them, I decided to purchase the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 USB-C Audio/MIDI Interface (4th Gen). I'd like to hear your opinions and reviews about using it with Cakewalk/SONAR.
gustabo
Why do you need an opinion or review on it if you already made your decision? 1

My friend, I haven't bought it yet. My decision was to buy this interface. Do you have anything to contribute or are you just being rude? If you have something positive to suggest for me to evaluate, that would be great. If not, silence is golden. You didn't ask for any suggestions beyond what you said that you decided on.
Chaps
It does have some nice features. The only things I can think of to mention are that it uses software (Focusrite Control 2 ) to control direct monitoring, and other mixing tools. I like that kind of control with my Steinberg UR24C (which also has a dial on the front for direct monitoring blend) and Focusrite Control 2 looks more sophisticated than what I use with my UR24C. I have seen one review of a similar Scarlett interface and the reviewer hated using software for direct monitoring and preferred using a dial on the front panel. Also, the USB protocol for the Scarlett 4i4 is USB 2.0 and not the faster USB 3.0, which may or may not make any difference on your system. John Vere
If you do watch a lot of YouTube reviews on interfaces each presenter will contradict what the last presentation said. Many will say Focusrite is a low value because it lacks a lot of features others have. My advice is to make a list of possible features and pick the interfaces that have the features that are of importance to you. Example- Direct monitoring levels on the front. A blend control for this. Midi ports, Combi jacks a large volume knob for my monitoring. If you record with other people then having extra headphones is a nice feature . Do you like reverb when recording? Then built in DSP is cool. Even though I don’t shop there I go on the Sweetwater web site and use the filter set to 4x4 USB interfaces priced low to high. They pretty much have them all . I did a video on 2x2 interfaces a year ago 2
Salvatore Sorice
I know I've said it before but it's worth repeating - so glad @John Vere is active on the Forums again!
