SOOOOOoooooo many issues

Hello Cakewalk/Sonar family. I've been using Sonar since it's inception way back when. I've NEVER experienced the copious amounts of problems I'm facing with this version of Sonar and I've been having the same issues since I bought it. There are many I could bring up but one that is more urgent is every time I try to export my audio as a WAV or MP3 it's missing a good portion of the song. I've highlighted everything and even tried high lighting the Master bus but no success. I'm doing EVERYTHING I've always done for the past 20 years to export a project as a MP3 and I'm having a hard time with this. What has changed?

You just need to read a little about the new features and options in these new versions of Sonar. Try selecting the "Enter Mix" preset when exporting audio, and you should have the clip(s) selected with the "Time Selection" option. See the settings in the screenshot:

Is export working as expected in CbB? How about selecting nothing and exporting only the Maste bus?

I've tried that too it doesn't work. And I don't have CbB on my computer anymore since I purchased Sonar. If I open an Old session in Sonar x3 (a nearly 15 year old program) it works just fine. Doing exactly the same process I would use in the current Sonar

Cakewalk may be seeing two different end times and cutting off the longer one at 3 minutes.

This is absolutely impossible, neither Cakewalk nor Sonar have such a setting, unless you yourself put a "Marker" at the 3rd minute, and mark it as "end of project". If you did not perform these actions, then Sonar itself will not implement such a scenario under any circumstances. I always have all tracks of different lengths, and such incidents have never happened in more than 30 years.

You're right, maybe I misunderstood

More commonly, if you have the shorter clip selected when you initiate the export, that selection becomes the default export length. For that and other reasons, it's best to hit Ctrl+Shift+A to de-select all before starting an export of an entire project. Before Start and End Markers were introduced, I generally used a punch or loop region to define the export range.

Aha! That's what I did. I believe I placed an end marker at the end of the shorter track so when I went to export, it cut off the longer one. That would likely leave at least two solutions to my problem, cut all the tracks to the same length or set the end marker to the longer track.

Either way, I already solved my issue. I was just trying to help the OP pinpoint theirs.

Hey, IgoRr. How you" This is not 100% accurate. Cakewalk also allows you to import cue markers. Depending on the file that was imported - it might have had an end marker where the file was added. I have had my fair share of frustrations on this and took me a while to figure what is happening. Not sure what is going on in @badt1mes project, but should this be this case where the sample have it written on and being used - it can be disabled here.

I will try to do it as you described, but for now I can say that I always choose the "Entire Mix" preset when exporting audio, and then there is no need to even select any tracks or clips. And when I export just one track (clip), I can select it, and it always shows the duration of the clip on the time scale at the top, which also automatically exports all the material on this track. For me, the previously described behavior of Sonar looks extremely strange, although, maybe this does not happen to me because I do not select any tracks.

Thanks for all the input Cakewalk family. I've solved the issue. I just cancelled my subscription to Sonar and started using a different DAW. It's crazy that I figured out a new DAW that I have zero experience with quicker than a DAW I been using for over 20 years ✌️

Sometimes you just gotta do it.
