I'm glad to see some love being given to AD2.  Even though it's fairly old, I think it still sounds great.  For a while I thought it was headed to the abandonware graveyard.  I'm glad to see I was wrong.

Not sure you are aware, but there was also an update several months ago.

Here's a list of changes for AD 2.6

New!

  •  Audio Recorder
Export loops & samples like a breeze
  • Snapshots
You can save up to 5 snapshots. Any change you make is automatically saved in the currently selected snapshot.
Use Snapshots to hot swap between your settings in real-time.
  • Turbocharged browsing
You can now navigate between presets and beats in Addictive Drums 2 with the arrow keys on your keyboard.
  • Shortlist
Store & audition potential beats in the Shortlist
As you browse beats in Addictive Drums 2, drag your favorites to the Shortlist to audition as your song plays. From there, drag the best ones into your project. The Shortlist is saved with your project/session.

Frankly, to me the new update does not sound interesting at all!

And the last update mentioned above brought only trouble for me, because on my test laptop I could not see the whole plugin interface anymore (too large) and also the new flat view is not as eye-friendly IMHO!

I want to have the same version on my computers. But thanks to the very good customer service I could reset the last update on my test laptop (another big disadvantage of many installation managers: you cannot downgrade yourself)! So I am glad to skip both of these updates without regret! There is really nothing I am missing!

The last Updates of ADdrums are very impressive and free.

Maybe it's an acoustic mirage, but imo the cymbals sound significantly better after the penultimate, big update. The sound optimizations and workflow of AD Drums 2 give me hope that the gap to SD Drums can be closed with a version upgrade to 3..

Thanks XLN
