Do you guys know if I save my Cakewalk projects on a pendrive then format my computer, when I open them again after formating, the files will remain untouched? Like, if I reinstall all the same plugins I used in the songs, will it all open normally again?

I have to format my computer as there's too much trash occupying space on it, but I worry I might lose all my Cakewalk projects. Has anyone done this before? Does saving the files on a pendrive keeps them safe afterwards?

if you have more than one drive you could possibly drag the folder to a drive that is not being formatted, reformat your drive, and drag the folder back.

A pendrive may work also.

You should have at least 2 backups of your projects anyway. 
Yes thumb drives, external drives and second drives are all the same as long as they are all in good condition. I would never trust just one
