Sonar 2025.02 Feedback

Recommended Posts

The "Quantize" window appears 1-2 seconds after pressing. Before this update, it was displayed instantly. The remaining windows are displayed faster, but generally slower than in the previous version. Please fix this. I often use “Quantize”, it has become inconvenient to work with.

The Inspector, Reverb, and Chorus knobs in the MIDI channel do not work.

As soon as you adjust the knob, the setting value will return to zero.

I capture the screenshot below and hope this bug can be fixed, Thank You!

(Win11 23H2, Sonar ver. 2025.02 Build 049, TTS-1 and Other MIDI Sound Modules have the same problem, In the old version of CbB it works!)

Sorry for bad english!

The “Quantise” Window appears instantly here.

I tried this with another synth that responds to CC91 and CC93.  It responds correctly when I adjust the Chorus and Reverb knobs in a MIDI track routed to that synth.  I tried this with “ShowMIDI” and UVI workstation.

@Promidi Thank you for your reply!
I'm pretty sure that Sonar Ver.2025.02 Build 049 has a real bug with the Reverb and Chorus knobs on the MIDI Inspector.

* After yesterday’s reply, I also upgraded Windows 11 to 24H2. The new version of Sonar also has the problem, so the problem with the OS version is ruled out.

To do this, I rolled Sonar Back to an older version, and here are the results of my tests:
Ver. 2024.09 (Build 105) → Works!
Ver. 2024.11 (Build 097) → Works!
Ver. 2024.12 (Build 004) → Works!
Ver. 2025.02 (Build 049) → Not Works!

After upgrading Sonar to the latest version, I tested it with UVI Falcon, and unsurprisingly, the problem reappeared. Here is a screenshot of the verification operation:

I also tried it with UVI Falcon with Gospel Musicians TGX99.  I MIDI learned CC91 to reverb mix using a MIDI controller. (as per your first screenshot)

MIDI controller moves the reverb mix knob on the TGX99.
The reverb Knob on the MIDI track inspector also moved the reverb mix knob on the TGX99.

This is with Cakewalk 2025.02 (Build 049)

Got it! Thank you for your reply. We will leave this issue to our R&D team to clarify and confirm.

Hi all - willing to believe most of all of these may be due my lack of knowledge, but if not, help?

1.  Articulation Maps Editor - when I open, there is no longer a "+" to add a new art map.  I can work around by copying, duping, and editing, but not sure why that feature went away.

2.  Not specific to latest release, but since I'm here, "Old Sonar" let you open multiple projects at once.  I don't seem to be able to do this anymore, even in safe mode.  It made copying from one project to another much easier.

3.  Crashes.  A lot.  Started last release, hoped it would be fixed.  Doesn't appear to be a specific cause.

1.  Can we have screenshot?  In the Articulation Maps Editor, I have always seen the + to the right of the delete icon.  Are you sue you’re in the “Articulation Maps Editor” screen and not the “Choose Articulation” screen?
2. Preferences - File - Advanced (Advanced) > deselect “Allow Only One Open Project at a Time”
3.  What have you tried so far.  What are your project specs (Driver mode, sample rate, bit depth, buffer size.  Latest drivers?)

Which theme are you using?

Good day!
I have just checked - I also have this plus sign very weakly, I use the Tungsten Classic theme (always). In the latest versions of modern Sonar, problems with the graphic display of some elements have become almost commonplace, I have repeatedly described here problems with the display of texts in some sections. But I see that users are simply forced to switch to Windows 11, despite the fact that the developers deny it. Although, judging by the design of the screenshot, AndrewMcMechan has Windows 11 installed, and the problems with the display also remain. In Cakewalk from Bandlab this icon is very well visible in all themes, I am attaching screenshots:
