Why I have to run System Restore occasionally when things go sideways after an update.

Windows 11 Pro license from bulk reseller.

I bought a Windows 10 Pro license from a similar places and it worked fine. Just Google "Windows 11 Pro license." Even though they seem impossibly low priced at $6 they are legit. I've never heard of anyone running into a problem with these resellers.

I think what they are doing is buying in bulk at system integrator prices and then flipping them. Similar to what a local computer shop that does system builds pays. Which lets you know how marked up the consumer licenses are.

I wonder if you upgrade a system do you need to purchase a new license.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I bought a Windows 7 Pro license (back when you could), upgraded it to Windows 10 Pro when it was free, then recently upgraded it to Windows 11 Pro.

Never had to purchase a new license at any point.

I've also upgraded about 6 other Windows 10 PC's to Windows 11 (both Pro and Home edition) and it's not required a new license.
