Does the "Preview Bus" have a specific role and characteristics?

Hi there

Apologies that this seems one of those very basic questions, but I'm trying to figure out of there is anything "special" about the Preview Bus, or is it just like any other bus you can create alongside the Master Bus.

It is only there so you can preview audio clips from the browser. It is exactly what you would get by inserting a new bus. 
I either delete it or I rename it something useful. I don’t use loops If you do then it’s very useful.
