sadicus
How to get 1:1 conversion settings MIDI with both Melodyne 5 Standalone and Melodyne 5 inside Cakewalk? #1 Melodyne 5 Standalone. After conversion, it gave some useful info: Gm 4/4 bpm91.56. The file was then exported to MIDI. Cbb project was then setup to import the MIDI. However when the Audio was imported into the track it becomes obvious the MIDI data length is not the same as the audio. #2 The audio drag/ dropped to MIDI track, with option "Melodic" this version looks closer to the audio and what I was wanting. So what's the trick to get both versions to produce the same results? I did notice that Melodyne Standalone, exports two MIDI files. songtest.tempo songtest.midi also what program actually uses ".tempo" file? It does nothing, produces no result in Cbb. In order to bring in the tempo changes along with the notes, you'll want to Open the .MID file with CbB from the File menu rather than importing to an existing project. When you import, the MIDI takes on the tempo(s) of the project. After opeing the file, save it as a "Normal" Cakewalk project. Sock Monkey
This is basically true for all Daw’s. It is a critical part of being able to transfer projects between different Daw’s. Without the tempo map nothing will line up properly. Sonar is user friendly in that allows both the save as and Opening of midi files. You would be surprised at how many different Daw’s don’t save or open midi files. But what many do is when you import or drag and drop a midi file is they ask you if you want to also use the tempo map. This is the key to then syncing the audio to the project. But some have to be told or the audio will be using the project set tempo. So Sonar is very easy and for me has always synchronized audio and midi perfectly. But the midi with the tempo map, has to be the first thing that was opened to a blank project. You don’t always need to use Melodyne stand alone for tempo extraction. Just drag the audio to the timeline. Edited December 29, 2024 by Sock Monkey
