I have a Korg Nano Key MIDI controller. How do I use it to play the built-in synth in Windows?

just open any DAW and under midi preferences you will have the option to choose microsoft GM wavetable synth, the default is a piano sound.

then play your midi keyboard.

I thought of that, but was looking for something easier.  I don't really want more software on my gigging computer, but it just might come down to that.

tbh, it's actually known to be quite unstable, you might be better off with another solution if you are going  to be using in a live situation.

OK, what I found is there is too much latency, even for just noodling around. Need to go to plan B.
