ToneDeF
Applied Acoustics Systems is very generous and also very gracious. From a prior year's experience, I know for a fact that AAS will indeed make good on their promise: Edited December 20, 2024 by ToneDeF
ToneDeF
Here is the AAS follow-up from a prior year; in terms of generosity, they are unquestionably top-shelf:
Fleer
Welk, had one left to pick. Picked.

I quite like going for the VS3 packs as I don't yet have VS3 (or CV2 for that matter). They are offering the usual deal on the remaining Pro Series items I don't have - 75 bucks for CV2 and VS3. I'm kicking myself as I'm sure it was something like 56 bucks during Black Friday.
Fleer
‘T was the last one, ZT, ‘t was Funk Essence. Should prove interesting as its by the funky Thiago Pinheiro. From the latest banks I would definitely pick the Chromaphone ones, like Exodus, Split Personality, and Ice Crystals. Never got CV-2 as I’m not into modular, but I did get the other engines.
ZincT
Cheers @Fleer I'll have a look at those three Chromaphone ones and Funk Essence as I don't have any of them. 👍🏻 Edited December 20, 2024 by ZincT
ZincT
@Fleer I went with Split Personality in the end. Nice collection of splits. Cheers for the recommendation matey 👍🏻 🍻

Years ago, Mixcraft came with a custom 2-soundpack DAW-locked version of Journeys and Entangled Species. It was without a doubt the best sounding virtual instrument I'd ever heard, and this was before they remastered their soundpacks for the v. 3 versions of the synths. Over the years, the number of freebie and Humble Bundle soundpacks I've picked up is in the dozens, and I finally pulled the trigger on Chromaphone and Ultra Analog themselves. Their way of doing business appeals to me as much as the sound quality of their instruments. Even their lone effect plug-in, Objeq Delay, is amazing. Underrated, I think. I got it as a PB BOGO and it's way better than whatever my qualifying purchase was. My only quibble is that their patches tend to have more reverb baked in than I would like, and if you're running them in A|A|S Player, there's no way to dry them out. I also get that if I want to be able to change it, then I can (and did) buy the full synths.
Rave Sbor
Don't know is it possible to register this pack let's say in the middle of 2025? Or it's gonna be vanished soon.

I have no idea what criteria AAS will use, but my guess is " . . . because I have all of the currently available sound packs" might work. " . . . because I only have your CV-2 Multiphonics modular instrument and I have all of those sound packs" might also work. But " . . . because I want to get a sound pack that hasn't already been released even if I don't have it" might not work. So, to me it makes sense if you don't want to ask them directly and you want to hope for the best. You really have nothing to lose by not asking AAS. Pat Osterday
Picked up Mystique. Maybe I'll actually use it? Haven't even got around to checking out Motions from last year! 🤦♂️
Chaps
I picked Bass factory for use with the free AAS Player. I'm always looking for good bass sounds but using this will be tricky since the AAS Player crashes my Cakewalk by Bandlab every single time I use it, both VST2 and VST3. It usually crashes while I'm previewing patches. My only practical workaround so far is to use an existing MIDI track I created for another synth and then freezing the AAS player. I like the sounds but it sure is aggravating to use.
X-53mph
I love AAS's customer support and freebie policy. I must be honest though and say that over all the years I've been collecting their products, I 've only used them in productions a handful of times. Most of the packs feel catered for sound design rather than music making, I tried breaking into the world of sound design, but never made any headway beyond unpaid gigs, so I don't have much need for them at the moment. For my own musical needs, Lounge Lizard probably gets the most use. Having said that, I opted for Microsound Textures as I liked the demo. 5 hours ago, Chaps said: I picked Bass factory for use with the free AAS Player. I like the sounds but it sure is aggravating to use. The crashing issue is to do with VST3, which is a known issue in Cakewalk (though they blame the manufacturers every time) - you need to make sure you turn off the option in Cakewalk that gives priority to VST3 plugins. Then you have to delete the VST3 plugin itself (assuming you don't intend on using it in another DAW). The crashing issue is a real pain and screwed up a lot of my productions when VST3 became a 'forced' option in a particular update of CbB. I think there is a thread somewhere on this site which discusses this issue.
