Liquidsonics Black Friday/Cyberweek sale ends today...glad I remembered.

I bought Tai Chi lite last year and while it sounds really good, I still ran to Pro-R2 or Arturia verbs for everyday purposes.  I decided to upgrade to full Tai Chi last night and holy hell, what a difference.  This thing is really something.  It's a "colour" reverb and yet the rooms and spaces sound more full and rich (dare I say realistic) that most of the verbs I've collected over the years.  I stayed up way too late last night and can't wait to put it on a few more drum busses just to make sure I'm not losing my mind.  Keys and guitars NEVER sounded better with just a little wet signal, and the controls provide the perfect balance of flexiblity and ease.  I'm not a tinkerer, and Tai Chi is right in my wheelhouse.  I did get Illusion and Seventh Heaven Standard (love those stacked discounts) and while they both sound amazing in different ways, I can't believe how many ways Tai Chi can get used across my mix.  As a reverb hoarder, I have found my match.  Fleer, you gotta check these out.

Our only sale of the year ends today! This is the final chance to save up to a massive 70% on critically acclaimed reverbs including Cinematic Rooms Professional for $249 (saving $150) and Seventh Heaven Professional for $179 (saving 40%).

https://www.liquidsonics.com/

Save hundreds of dollars with our bundles - check out the Reverb Suite to get seven stunning reverbs for $579, that's 65% off!

The sale ends today. There will be no extensions.

If you want to save in the store do not delay!

They sure make some nice reverbs. I bought Tai Chi Lite; I was hoping for a 30% extra discount code to appear, like it did last year (when I bought Reverberate 3), to get the full version, but it didn't, so I chickened out.

I don’t remember seeing that code last year—would have bought Seventh Heaven, too,  if that was the case.  If I knew what Tai Chi Full could do back then, I wouldn’t have bothered with Lite.  That said, it did help bring the cost of Illusion down. I wouldn’t have bothered with Illusion, either, if I’d gotten Tai Chi full first.  It’s that good.

I need a reverb support group.  STAT.

are you talking 30% on top of the coupon codes that you have from owning each of their plugins?

the specific coupon code for tai chi lite is 10%

Just curious, which presets do you think sound so good?

I bought the full version of Tai Chi last year and went through all the presets, but none of them stood out to me.

It's definitely a solid, well-designed, low-CPU plugin, but not one that distinguishes itself from the other ones I own.

I thought that was what you were referring to.  I only know of their existing coupon-stacking program.  For Tai Chi, the coupon can’t be applied for an upgrade within the same product line so it’s $70 for the upgrade, unless you have other reverbs and use their codes.  My upgrade was $54 since I have Illusion which carries a 22.5% discount in their shop.

I would have to go into the preset menu to look, but like most other plug-ins, the presets are a starting point.  I found many of the designer presets to be very good if not interesting, mainly due to the dynamics and EQ shaping that are in the full product. I rarely keep what settings come with the presets. There was on designer that dialed in rooms, for instance, that got me about halfway there.  After slight tweaks to dynamics and EQ, it was stellar.

This is like adding some surgical tools to something like Raum, which I consider underrated, but equally colorful.

Tai Chi’s algos seem warmer than what I have relied on to now, like ProR-2 and Sparkverb which ring metallic to my ears.

Might not be for everybody but this sale only happens once a year so I want to make sure that loose change in the pockets or $20 bill you left in your winter coat from last year finds a home. Only $9 more to pick up a very capable (but comparatively limited) Tai Chi Lite.

Sure wish I was home screwing around with these verbs.

I'm not sure it worked together with the loyalty codes. But it wasn't a loyalty code, just a generic discount code, yet worked on top of their sale prices.

How do you like Illusion?

Very similar to me! I gave Tai Chi Lite a demo last year I think it was and it didn't wow me and I didn't buy it. I gave it another demo this year and felt the same. It wasn't terrible, but I have plenty of reverbs and it didn't add a lot in terms of sound and features. Then I tried the full version and I understood within minutes what people were saying and why they liked it and bought it.

I grabbed Cinematic Rooms Pro which is amazing and I knew that was an insta buy for me in seconds and a few others as they stacked with EDU discounts plus loyalty so the prices were really good.

If you buy the lite versions, or cheaper ones and then use the loyalty codes on other products to get the full versions, it's drops the prices down quite a lot.

I just dabbled with Illusion.  I had a trial last year and really liked it but decided to just put my toe into LiquidSonics with Tai Chi lite.  It’s deep, but the UI is surprisingly easy to understand - it’s more a matter of whether you need the additional features and can use them to good effect, pun intended.

i think it’s a good “all-arounder” and I’m certainly not going to be using its full potential for a while.  It’s not a colored as Tai Chi, for sure.  It is really good at placing things in a space, but you can also play with echoes, predelay, etc.  I’m sure we’ll get along just fine.

All that said, ProR2 will always be close at hand because workflow matters and I don’t think I gave the “2” part of the name enough credit here.

I remember that but it's not extra discount from LS. It's bonus coupon from some subscription service leaked and found stackable with LS's sale discount.

And it was disabled at the middle of the sale anyway.

We're in the deals section. God knows how many discounts we benefitted from here which were probably not used as planned/expected by plugin makers. Leaks, glitches, and whatnot. So I don't think that matters much. But yeah, other than that, you are right (I used to pay for that particular subscription service).
