I have asked questions about exporting before and modified my process accordingly, but now the behaviour of Cakewalk seems to have changed following the latest update.
I export by using the File/Export menu option, I do not use the export module in the toolbar. I find the menu option gives more information and I find the Toolbar method more restrictive.
During my previous questions it became apparent that I needed to choose a method which enabled me to select the master bus when exporting , this avoided any problems with volume levels etc. on the monitor "bus" (I monitor at different levels depending on headphone, nearfield monitor or main monitors)
I also do not select the "project" time when exporting, I always create space at the start to give me room in case I wish to add an intro, this avoids having to move all clips should this occur. Therefore I always use Time Selection for exporting so I can trim unwanted space at the start and end.
Here lies the question....
Previously when I selected Time selection All the tracks became "selected" i.e. the track number became highlighted. Then all tracks were included in the mix.
NOW, what ever track was selected remains selected and no others, then the mix only includes that track!!!
The only way around this I have found is to Select All tracks (Ctrl A) before File/Export, then the mix does contain all tracks.
This is where I am confused. As I select the Master bus when exporting, why do I need to have all track selected (the track number highlighted) to include them in the mix?
Why did this happen automatically before and is not happening now.
Obviously I have found a solution to this but could someone educate me on either the Toolbar export option AND/OR the File/Export method.
