AirTurn pedal use with Cakewalk

I have an AirTurn Bluetooth pedal that I would like to use to send Start/Stop commands to Cakewalk running on my Microsoft Surface Pro 6.  I know this can be done but for the life of me cannot figure out how.  Has anyone here done this and if so share how it is done?

Chuck, in another post, @tdehan asked how to use an airturn bluetooth pedal to get Cakewalk to start/stop.  I suspect this question here might be related, but not 100% sure. I am just guessing.

Thanks for the heads up. I merged his other thread with this one to avoid confusion.

Map to what your keyboard ?

Start/stop is the spacebar. I cant remember off hand if you can un-bind that shortcut but if you could it would be done in preferences.

Using- Edit > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts.

I replied prior (if you read it) that Start /Stop  does NOT work from the spacebar for me.  I assume there is some edit/preference I would need in order to achieve that with that spacebar.  But as I clearly stated prior... the spacebar does not start or stop Cakewalk for me...

That is what is wrong and should be troubleshooted.

Spacebar is windows standard for start/stop.

Every daw in windows use this.

I use it in Vlan when i watch videos.

If something needs to start or stop it is spacebar you use.

Doesn't sound anything like you saying "Its NOT working". It sounds like your asking for a way to accomplish it. There's a difference.

What I clearly stated prior was that Start/Stop does not work from the space bar on my Surface.  Right?

tapping the space bar means I would have to tap the screen.  However, with that said, should I be able to start play back from tapping the space bar?  If so, it doesn't work.

With that said, my question is about starting playback from a pedal...not by tapping the screen.  If I am going to tap the screen I would simply reach up and press the PLAY button.

My post is asking about using the AirTurn (QUAD) pedal to Start/Stop Cakewalk.

Just so other users know... You can also use MIDI to control Cakewalk by choosing the option in Keyboard Shortcuts. And the AirTurn has a very detailed MIDI mode...
