Latency with recording and input echo

When I record my guitar, vocals etc, it is delayed in input echo by about 1 second and it also records about 1 behind when I play it, but when I only have it so I’m hearing it from my interface it doesn’t delay.

The amount of delay you hear can depend on many things. What effects do you have in the effects bin?  Each effect can add delays. Your audio interface plays a factor in this as well. What driver mode and audio interface are you using.

It takes time to get a signal from the audio inface into the computer and the DAW. Latency is affected by your audio interface, the drivers it uses, your computer and the software and services running on your computer as well as fx in the DAW. With an average IF with an ASIO driver and a decent computer a person can monitor what is recorded in 8-10 ms which is like standing 10 feet away from an amp or monitor.
