If i delete kontakt 6 my projects will open with the 7?

I have both installed, in some projects i have some instruments loaded in K6 and  others in K7, the question is with that ''migration tool'' if i delete the version 6 all the presets and stuff will be loaded in 7 with no changes in the sound

In there it states: "IMPORTANT: Auto-migration only works with the latest versions of Cubase 12 (and higher), Nuendo 12 (and higher), Logic Pro 10.8 (and higher), Pro Tools 12.3 (and higher) and Maschine 2.16.0 (and higher). Do not try to perform the auto-migration on other DAWs! And do not perform auto-migration if you are still working on your project!"

Depends on which “'migration tool”' you are referring to.  Can you elaborate.

i'm referring to the migration vst3 option that appear on the vst adjustments in the preferences

note that i have installed in my system the kontakt 6 in vst2 and the kontakt 7 only in vst3

Leave K6 installed.   The K6 presets will not automatically move to K7.

I have Kontakt v5, v6, v7 and v8 installed. v7 and v8 are VST3 only. Some music software (I'm looking at you Band-in-a-Box) still don't support VST3. Steinberg no longer licenses the VST 2.4 development software to new plugin developers, so many new plugins are VST3 only. In my opinion, it's much easier to just load the version of Kontakt that was used to create a given song, rather than trying to port an existing song to a new version of Kontakt. I think that would be a complete waste of time.

The newest version of Kontakt has a long requested feature which allows you to import 3rd party content as searchable libraries into their libraries page.  That's a great feature because lets me find content without having to search through the file system.

Unfortunately, in order to take advantage of that feature you need to perform a batch resave to resave the existing content in the current format.  Which means that you cannot take advantage of that feature without breaking all your existing projects which were saved with earlier versons of the software.
