I personally use Reaper to track and Mixbus for finishing mixes of tracks. If I'm not recording/editing any midi tracks I go straight to Mixbus. I never go beyond Reaper if I'm not going to do a "finished" mix.

For our band's studio we chose CbB two years ago. The band leader is considering ProTools so more pros could easily participate in our mixing.  It's over $30/month which I think isn't worth the off chance said pros will help with a mix. 

Shortlist of replacements is Studio One, ProTools and Cubase. Considering moving over to Mac also.
