if you get the Custom3 bundle  https://www.uaudio.com/uad-plugins/custom-bundles.html
you can pick from catalog 3 plugins (even the amps sims currently on sale for around $149) for $109 then if you have the $25 discount coupon (don't know if that appears for everyone or only previous customers) including that drops price down to $28 per plugin.

I've been vaguely toying with this because I have that coupon, but I don't really need them...and the ones I'm interested in are really old at this point (is it still worth getting their Distressor when you have the IK version? Or their Ampex if you have their Studer + all the IK tape emus?).

Am very curious about Fatso, but in the demos I can't actually hear what it's doing!

I think I've talked myself out of it!

Heads up. Fatso is not resizable. I picked it up a while ago and haven't gotten past not bieng able to see the UI. I know you're supposed to use you ears and all, but you've got to be able to see what you're doing! 🙄 Hopefully they'll port it to Native and fix that.

Demo'd those amps sims, must admit they are really nice to play through.  Need to fight the temptation now/

The $25 code is specifically for the 3 bundle option but it doesn't appear to be account specific:

Save 25 on UAD Select 3 Code: SELECT3SAVE
Expires: 12/31/2024 11:59 PM PST
*Coupon only valid on UAD Select 3, cannot be combined with other offers

I avoid UAD.  Their app always starts up with no option to change.  You can be in a plugin scan and all of a sudden their app decides to update.

Their plugins seem to have stood the test of time so far though, that's why I like them.  If you take these guitar amp sims and compare to other companies, who constantly seek to update to new paid versions and the originals are left to rot - it causes so many more problems for me and you're updating for the sake of it a lot of the time.  Plus older projects may fail to work if you own v4, and it was v2 in the project.  Winds me up!

A project you create today with these plugins will likely load the same in 5+ years time.  And that's what I personally find most important.  The updater app can be easily quit so just not an issue for me.

Just like every plugin on a Windows system.  Not a reason these days.  See Waves

I was referring to plugin manufacturers paid version updates.  It's something UAD don't engage in which creates stability for projects, across hardware, which I prefer.

Resistance is futile!  Embrace the urge.  Become one with the deal.  You know you want it.  Buy! Buy! Buy!

Three great sounding plugins for the price of one AmPlug3 and a cable sounds like a great deal. I wish my CPU was a bit more capable, though. Unfortunately, can't run even one amp sim, neither at useable buffer size (128 samples) nor at maxed out (2048 samples).

Still thinking about getting these with the future upgrade in mind.

^ You also get the Pulteq EQ collection for free after purchase, and if you already own it they give a $29 voucher on another spend.  It really is a great deal.

As for CPU usage it was pretty high for me, but when I tried it on Reaper as a comparison it was only using like 3-4%.  I don't know what kind of magic they have going on?!
